Bowl O' Cherries Stuffing

2 tablespoons; butter or margarine

3/4 cup; chopped celery

1/2 cup; chopped onion

1 teaspoon; dried thyme

1/4 teaspoon; poultry seasoning

1/2 box (6 oz.) of Mrs. Cubbison's Traditional Seasoned Stuffing

3/4 cup; chicken broth

2 cups; frozen pitted cherries, thawed and drained, or 2 cups canned pitted cherries, drained


  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Liberally grease a 2-quart casserole dish and set aside.
  • Place the butter or margarine in a medium-sized saucepan, and melt over medium heat. Add the celery and onion and sauté for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft. Stir in the thyme and poultry seasoning.
  • In a large bowl, toss together the stuffing mix, sautéed vegetables, and broth. Gently stir in the cherries.
  • Transfer the stuffing to the prepared dish and cover. Bake on middle rack of preheated 350°F oven for 20 to 30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • If a crisp top is desired, uncover the dish and bake for 10 additional minutes.
