Basic Saucepan Stuffing

2 tablespoons; butter or margarine

1/2 cup; finely chopped celery

1/2 cup; finely chopped onion

1 1/3 cups; broth, fruit juice, or water

1/2 box (6 oz.) of Mrs. Cubbison's Traditional Seasoned Stuffing or Seasoned Corn Bread Stuffing


  • Place the butter or margarine in a large saucepan, and melt over medium heat. Add the celery and onion, and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onion is soft.
  • Add the broth, fruit juice, or water to the saucepan, and bring to boil over high heat. Cover the saucepan, reduce the heat, and simmer for 3 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat, and stir in the stuffing mix. Cover and let stand for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the liquid has been absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.
